The exact quote: "...seeing if we can get an assault weapons ban reintroduced." It's not exactly news: it's a month old, from the second debate.

As a liberal, I've been waiting four years for Obama to get anything I care about "introduced," and I've about given up.
Obama knew that was a non-starter, and that's why he phrased it that way: there isn't a single Democrat in the old or new Congress dumb enough to attach his or her name to AWB Junior...

Even Markos Moulitsas, founder of the "Great Orange Satan," considers gun control a dead issue and poison for Democrats.
