Shooters Grill, Rifle, CO: waitresses carry.
« on: July 05, 2014, 09:15:41 PM »
At the Shooters Grill in Rifle, CO, they don't discourage carrying.  The waitresses carry and OC is OK.  Restaurant offers CO and UT concealed carry courses complete with dinner.  The local sheriff encourages people to get a CC permit: “I think there’s this misunderstanding that we can always be there. But I’ve got about one deputy per 1,000 people. People have the absolute constitutional right to protect themselves.”

The city of Rifle is a long way from Denver: physically and philosophically.

Most LEO's understand that those of us the have carry permits are more of a deterrent, and safer that the average citizen.  We understand the liability of pulling that gun, but we do it often enough that their job is easier.  Only in states like DE do the politicians over rule law enforcement.

Anyone that gets !st Freedom or American Rifleman, reads the armed citizen column regularly.

As a former long time resident of Colorado and very familiar with Rifle and a number of other North West CO towns, this is the norm.
I grew up there and it used to be a great state to live in until all the California residents started to move to CO in the late 70's.
Now there is more CA residents in CO than natives. Such a shame.

My son and his wife are both CCDW permit holders, sister, and mom are still there so I make a couple trips a year back to see family.

You must have from an area so rural that you don't even have roads. If Colo Spgs doesn't have roads...

Lol I was shocked, stunned actually years ago at the number of folk out west who thought most Canadians lived in igloos and speerhunted. One of my favorites was just outside Butte, Montana where a waitress said "Nova Scotia, yeah that's over there next to Russia an them Eskimos."

It's not just an Easterners thing lol :)
