If you want to quickly become a licensed ham radio operator in the easiest way possible, our "Ham in a Day" session is the perfect solution. You attend for just one day, 8:00AM to 5:30PM, and you’re done.
Our success rate is excellent!
Saturday March 1st
8:30am to 5:30pm

Wow!!!  When I did it, I had to receive CW at 20 wpm.

Rub it in, Mr. Extra Class :). The announcement doesn't say, but the class length, lack of prerequisites, and the goal of emergency preparedness all point to Technician Class which has primarily VHF/UHF privileges where my handy handheld transceiver allows me to participate on the emergency nets.  I never liked CW so I gutted it out to the 13 WPM required for General Class and then upgraded to Advanced by taking the written test.

For those of you who are interested, Amateur (Ham) Radio is a worthwhile goal.  At the Boston Marathon bombing, the hams, who were running the race coordination, continued to communicate via their repeaters when the phone users had little or no coverage.

I quit when I got my general class license and as you it was 13 WPM back then. I got my novice license in 1969 and let it lapse. Got it again 1970 and continued to upgrade to General.
Still have current General class license.

If it's a day long class, with general or extra at the end I might be interested.
Already have my tech, I'd love to upgrade so I can play around on HF.

Register for a FRN (FCC registration number) that skips the SSN stuff.

Well worth getting your ticket. lots of good people on the nets non of the chicken band ( CB ) crazy stuff. nice to make friends around the world.
