Locked in Maryland only.  You may carry in Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia. In South Carolina you may not carry except in your console or glove box in your car.

Also if pulled over, North Carolina is "must notify" police that you are carrying.

Might be a good idea to go down Rt. 13, use the Bay Bridge-Tunnel and avoid DC.

Going by the bridge-tunnel you would also be avoiding the Communist State of Maryland.

Mostly. You still have a 43-mile stretch from Salisbury to the VA line.

Enjoy Georgia. I have fond memories of being based there.

In a Dodge Charger Pursuit that takes about 27 minutes.

Just took a trip to SC, I printed out the laws of the states I would be passing through.  Be extremely careful in Maryland!  I had ammo in one locked box and firearm locked in a separate locked box with the firearm in a holster that had a snap retention, with both boxes in the trunk.  I read that somewhere so I decided to just be on the safe side.  Passing from NC into SC I simply took gun off my hip and into the glove box.  This was my first trip so I tried to be prepared, can't ever be too careful!

Virginia recognizes all states, but Delaware does not recognize Virginia anymore.
