Well week 7 starts today and still no update. If no news is good news I am batting 1000, however this wait sucks on so many levels.
-
Hang in there Devil Dog. A watched pot never boils.
We've all been there to some extent! :)
Moosie
-
Agree on the wait time, but when it arrives it is all worth it.
My wait was 6 weeks and 2 days. I received me permit in May.
-
Bulldog, I am with you. Starting week 9 and no word in Kent Co.
-
Should be soon, two friends just got their's, nine weeks and ten weeks, Kent County.
-
Finishing week 7 Friday and pushing into week 8. Still nothing not a peep not so much as a sucks to be me wait and see call.
-
You do realize that this is the normal wait time (short actually) in DE to receive your permit?
Moosie
-
Yes, but bitching makes the wait tolerable :-X
-
LOL, ok. Just making sure.
Moosie
-
The wait, the long wait, the forever wait. Eventually it comes and now you can post to the new one about how the wait will eventually end.
-
Starting week 8 tomorrow any news pop pop? You are 2 weeks ahead of me so once you get yours I can start the countdown.
-
Bulldog, Started week 9 Wednesday and nothing yet. No calls, no email, no voicemail so I think all is still good just the wait.
-
Got to love it. I am trying not to think about it any more. Just going to keep counting the Fridays till it shows up.
-
Hang in there. It's a LOOOOONG PITA wait, but well worth it.
We've all been there too. Be glad you're not NCC. Clowns
work even slower up here.
And when you get it. Look at it. You'll see it's such a high
quality document you'll understand why it took so long....
-
Radnor the quality is second to none. What with the rubies and pearls that are encased in platinum.
The wait sucks, but when it comes you will still find yourself checking the mail like something is coming.
-
Trapper, or checking it like your waiting for somethinf or something is wrong
-
I think we could get a better quality permit if we sent two box tops and $1.99 to Kelloggs. ::)
Moosie
Oh.. and if any of you who are waiting for your permit have not read on the other threads, most if not all of us heard NOTHING until it magically appeared in our mailboxes. NONE of my references were contacted. I don't think I remember anyone on here who did have references that were called. Just putting it out there. Hopefully the wait is almost over for you guys!
-
and......NCC is typically about a 17 week wait, so buckle up.

I second that @Moosie

Hello,
New to the forum. Just thought i'd mention that I applied for my CCW permit first week in April (NCC) and while I was down the beach at Lewes last week my permit arrived in the mail. Took about 10 weeks, great way to end my vacation!
-
Congrats to you, carry often and stay safe....
-
@Guster, congrats and carry often, be prepared, practice so you can be confident.
-
Very nice, Guster! Congrats.

I called today to check on the status and was told they have a backlog in Justice of 60 or 70 applications. She said mine should have been back by now so they don't have any eta for me. Welcome to week 8 and beyond.
-
Hey pop pop have you heard anything yet. Just saw another guy got his at 9 weeks.
-
I saw that as well but 10 weeks as of yesterday and nothing. Obviously they do them in the order they received them.
-
I hope not or I have another month to go. Not sure if I can take the stress.
-
Bulldog I just got home and checked mail. Not here, called Prothonotary and was told up to 4 months in Kent Co. They said that of the 5 investigators at Department of Justice some work much faster than others so it depends who got yours. 10 weeks plus for me at this point.
-
@@@@ it went from 2 to 4 months that sucks. We will be like NCC at this rate.
-
I heard that some of the investigators are part time and some are full time.
-
They may have hired some part time to help with the work load. I can't confirm at this time.
-
Well for me it has been 10 weeks so far as of last friday and still waiting in Sussex ???
-
Starting week 10 and counting.....looks like kent has slowed down and NCC sped up the process.
-
As of today 7/5 I filed 11 weeks ago and still waiting in Sussex!!! >:(
-
As of 7/3 Wednesday I was at 11 weeks in Kent County and still nothing. Starting week 12 now. Wow I see some New Castle county in less time. Must have moved investigators over
-
Tried calling again today but was sent to voice mail. The lady who transferred me said they have been getting a lot of calls. So still no word on how much longer I will have to wait. On the bright side at least my raven concealment holster will be done by the time I see the permit
-
Ok all, here is the latest news from kent county. I spoke with a very nice lady who indicated she just got a batch of apps back from DOJ. The good news or bad news depending on when you filed is the batch was from end of march and early April. That means at least 4 more weeks for me but good luck to the rest of you
-
So I may or may not get lucky. I sent it in on April 17 It will cone Bulldog, Have faith
-
Hopefully you're less than two weeks out
-
Friday marks the start of week 11 of my original 8 week wait ??? I will follow up with them in another 2 weeks for an update.
-
Bulldog Good news. It arrived Friday July 12
-
Great thanks for the update based on your results I have about 2 weeks I can live with that. Carry well and often.
-
Just submitted my paperwork yesterday. I'm hoping by Thanksgiving.
-
Week 4 in Sussex - a ways to go!! I figure about mid-September for me. I turned in my course certification today and had the chance to speak with Joyce Collins, the Prothonotary. she was covering the window at the time.
She told me she is working on about 200 applications and she just received about 20 that were submitted in April. That's about 3 months. She also said that I might get mine a little sooner. I got the feeling that things may be moving just a little quicker now.
And the wait goes on!
-
Hello!
I'm relatively new to the forum. Been logging in for awhile. I submitted in Kent County on May 15. So I've been watching the timing of some of you that submitted in April, etc. So, I figure I have about a month based on what some have said. So we'll see!
I appreciate this forum. It was reading other's recommendations that helped me find my training class.
Thanks!
Louis
