That is not the only thing we have come a long way on- check the house ad. Yikes! Can an ad be any more condescending?

True but you have to understand that at the time this was a wonderful thing for these families.  I know some folks who were pioneers in that neighborhood and this was a godsend for them to be able to own a home in the suburbs.
