Title: When to sign up for the gun safety class?
Post by: Lumspond on November 25, 2009, 12:57:02 AM
I got the okay from the AG office, but I should wait for the judges approval before signing up/ taking the gun safety class, correct?

One more question, I noticed the renewal uses the same application form. Do you have to repeat all the steps to renew, or just some of them?

Thanks everybody.

I would take the class after you get your letter from the AG's Office and as far as re-cert I believe all you need to do is fill out the form and get new pictures taken.

The next letter is from the court.  It will state you have 90 days from the date of the letter to submit your certificate  or you will be automatically denied.  It should arrive soon.  This is what I did (class after the letters).

I would suggest to find a class now. With the increase in applications its a fair guess to assume the classes have gotten busier too. The place I had intended to take my class with canceled the class I was scheduled with and due to a vacation I had planned I wouldn't have been able to get another class in time. I ended up using another place but it kinda left me scrambling, and this was 2 years ago before the increase.
