Title: Why You Should Have a Light/Flashlight
Post by: Hawkeye on August 16, 2014, 12:34:19 AM
I have heard people argue that you do not want a light on you home defense weapon because that lets the bad guys know where you are.  If you do not use a light this might happen.

This guy is an LEO, I do not understand why he did not have a light.

I have two home defense weapons. A Benelli Nova Tactical 12 ga. and a Glock 21SF with a 30 round magazine. Both have lights and lasers attached.

I agree with you Hawk. I have a light mounted on my Remington 870 12 gauge. However my P226 with 18 round mag does not have an accessory rail. I also have a handheld Thrunite light on the night table.
But...train yourself if the light switch is anywhere close to the trigger. Found this interesting article regarding accidental shooting attributed to attempted light engagement. http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_25921024/gun-mounted-flashlights-linked-accidental-shootings
