Been on the hunt for a mid grade .22lr to shoot. Partially so I can save money instead of shooting .223/5.56 out of the DD all day, but more so, everybody should own a little .22 rifle!

My requirements were:
-Bolt Action
-Wood
+/- $400
Love the wood and cut. I like it better than a stained solid color wood. Has a blued barrel. Picked it up for $310.
Picked up a "only used once" Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 Scope off Armslist for $100.
I was looking to pick up a CZ which may be a little nicer in the end, shoot about the same (or so close its splitting hairs), but is a small handful more. Now I was able to get rifle and scope +$150 still in my pocket compared to if I got a CZ and didnt have a scope.
Can't wait to take it out to shoot tomorrow !
Enjoy-

Here is a 30rd PMAG compared to the 5 shot .22lr mag :)

I saw it when you picked it up and liked it a lot. Must tell me how it shoots. I picked up a Ruger 10/22 stainless last year along with a good number of 10 and 25 round mages for it. I enjoy shooting it a lot. I'd like to get a bolt .22 though as well.
Btw hopefully picking up my new CZs from Chris on Saturday! He is still looking for the PPQ in 9mm for me. I noticed he had a dedicated CMMG upper in .22 there I might pickup as well.

Great to hear! He is a very resourceful man. Excellent person to do business with.

You'll like the accu trigger. I have the FVT.
Nice looking firearm BTW. Enjoy it.

Very nice, and I agree a .22 is a must have.

Had a great day with a buddy at Ommelanden sighting the scope in. I didnt have a sled with me and it was to cold to accurately sight it in, so i just did guess work and had a great time anyways. The tracks were all stuck because of the weather (but it did look like they had track covers outside they are going to instal so the place actually works in bad weather) so you chose a lane with a stuck target that was around the distance you wanted to shoot. Just 2 other people there, had old style hot/cold ranges to set up targets, great company with the RO.
Got to try shooting a bolt .308 someone had just got; first time shooting a .308, wow! Just a little different than the .22 ;) but loved it!
Cant wait for some warmth and to finally take the daniel defense out to sight it in.

Sounds fun! I really like the 308 round. I've been tossed on a new AR purchase because of this. Not sure if I want to go the AR10 308 or AR15 in either 6.8 or 6.5. Going 10 would likely be a 1 off and I have an ar10 80% lower though not started yet. Going the 6.8 or 6.5 would be as easy as buying an upper. The later ammo is really expensive however!
Any word yet about a 100 yard or longer range there yet? I heard they were putting a few extended long anes n but not when.
How did the new Savage do.. regardless of the cold? :)

Looking forward to some .308 in my future: I placed a deposit to order a M1A Scout Squad.
DiFi forgot to ban it.

Savage was great! Performed flawlessly. Something about shooting a bolt action that is just lost with a semi sometimes. Extremely happy with the purchase.

Congratulations! I actually looked at that same gun when I was about to purchase a 22. I am sure that you will love it!
I ended up with an Anschutz. 1975 model 54. I love that gun! Problem is that I started shooting BR50 at my local gun club and found out how expensive it can be. But I wouldn't change a thing. Out of all the guns I own, the 22s get the most workout! LOL

BobW.. That's likely to become more popular for the foreseeable future with the prices of ammo. I shoot our .22s rarely however think that's going to change. Hopefully I get out tomorrow for a bit and the .22s will certainly be out with us.

The problem today is that even 22 ammo is hard to find. I will be glad when things get back to normal!

The problem was trying out the .308...now i want one!!!
Was going to get one today, but decided I would get an Aimpoint for my DD before I get another rifle.
