Post by: Menner on October 25, 2013, 12:45:16 AM
just got ccw the 14th I went to the Dept that I worked as a LE Officer for 15 1/2 years to get my 218 cert and HR said that I did not qualify because I voluntarly resigned and I researched 218 and all it states is that if you seperate in good standing and were employed for a min of 10 years you meet the requirements before I go to battle with them anyone know if I am reading this wrong?

Menner from what I see you are correct.  They changed the wording in LEOSA with ‘‘Law Enforcement Officers Safety
Act Improvements Act of 2010, changing the word "retired" with "separated from service." I have attached the amendment to this post.
