Title: Transporting handguns
Post by: Hurdy1 on March 10, 2016, 11:20:22 PM
I've tried to read up on this, but find the info very confusing. Does the ccp allow me to have a loaded firearm in a ready position in my truck or does it actually have to be on my person? Where is the gray line between carrying concealed  and transportation of a loaded firearm? Any thought/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I apoligize for such a novice question, and thank all y'all kind people for being here for us newcomers

The licence is to "carry a deadly weapon on or about the person".  About the person has been held to mean within reach.  If you have a license, you may conceal a deadly weapon on or about the person.  This includes knives.

Transporting a loaded handgun in plain view is legal without a license.  Rifles and Shotguns may not be loaded in or on a motor vehicle even if you have a license. This is a fish and game law.
