New guy from Sussex County
« on: June 11, 2010, 12:22:08 PM »
Like hearing what everyone has to say. I got interested in concealed carry last october and since then
I have acquired my Delaware(what an ordeal that was) Florida, and Virginia. I carry a glock 31 (357 sig.)
and have started my gun collection, hope to purchase a gun every month or two.

Thanks again for all your inputs.

Shooter, why did you choose to get a Virginia non resident license? Also how tough was it to get?
Cheers,

I got my Virginia permit because we travel there quite a bit to go to Busch Gardens in the summer, and I was
concerned that if I got pulled over i would get a cop that wasn't up to speed on the reciprocity and I would get
hassled and detained until they got it figured out, so for about $100.00 it was worth it to me to carry the Virginia
license.  It was very easy, I had it back within 3 weeks (same as Florida)

Virginia it seems is a more gun friendly state than most. I try to stay up to date with laws in the states that I will
be traveling through and Virginia laws are friendly.  For example the Virginia legislature as of July will allow CC in restaurants
that serve alcohol. I also prefer to open carry and I haven't had any issues.
