I do not understand why more gun owners are not members of the NRA. I know the NRA will ask for contributions from time to time. I do not give as often as I would like, but I do the best that I can. I have written more letters this election period to my elected officials than I have my whole life. There are some 6 million NRA members. Why not more? I don't understand. We need to get busy and recruit. God bless the U.S.

I for one can truthfully say, that being retired and on a fixed retirement income leaves little room for giving away money to anyone except my church. I maintain NRA membership, but find little extra for range time and massive amounts of ammo purchases. Some people are lucky to be wealthy, but that is not my case. I only hope that those who can give do so.

Because I'm the token Socialist on the forum, I know there are quite a few armed Leftists.
Most Democrats, even if they realize that the NRA is largely responsible for protecting their RKBA, incorrectly see it as exclusively supporting Republicans and they don't wish to contribute to that.
Also, the recent upsurge in hoplophobic propaganda has hurt the public image of the NRA so much that some people are afraid to be associated with it.
My wife and I, however, are standing firm with the NRA.

Gonavy I wonder the same thing myself . I think some people just see it as another organization that wants your money lord knows there’s plenty of people asking for it .
If someone on this forum is on a fixed income and would like to be a new member of the NRA please contact me I will gladly pay your membership expecially retired military members. That is as long as I can afford the offer .

I am a patron lifer, and give much more that the price of my dues. Without them, we would have to go back to baseball bats, etc. Although with the DE elections results, we may be headed there soon.

Hey Old Gray: Are you starting a Delaware chapter of the Socialist Rifle Association? See this:

I’m confused ?? Maybe oldgrey can explain it to me . How can you be for your 2A rights but yet be on the side that want to limit your rights? I actually am glad to see any group that supports 2A no matter their politics but in my mind your kinda fighting against your own beliefs.

We don’t try to understand Old Gray, we just love him, chuckle at his posts and realize what a boring and mundane world it would be without folks like Old Gray.
Happy Thanksgiving to all irregardless of where you land on the political spectrum!!!
