Maybe I am missing something but I don't see anything wrong with the Police Officers' actions.

A man who was fatally shot by New York City police officers near Times Square was no more than three feet away when he lunged at them with a kitchen knife, the department's chief spokesman said Sunday.

Four officers delivered six bursts of pepper spray at Mr. Kennedy, without apparent effect, Mr. Browne said. As police surrounded him near West 37th Street, officers made sure there was only a brick wall behind them when they opened fire.

If what the police is saying is true, I agree with you guys. I am skeptical sometimes with trigger happy police officers.

Again I have to agree with you. I saw this take-down on TV an what people must not understand is that a person with a knife can , from a distance of 10' away, lunge and striike in about a second. That is not a lot of time to react. The fact that the officer with a tazer being a couple of blocks away means little. How many times have you seen on "Cops" other similar shows, that perps are repeatedly tazered and still don't go down? I think this was a "righteous shooting" on the part of the police.
