Acc to their source/s, as of 2017 March 28, DE had 17,436 CCWers: 2.33% of DE's population.

According to that chart DE(17,436) has 22 more permits issued than MD(17,414).
The population of DE is 925,749
The population of MD is 5,928,814
5 million Marylanders who cannot shoot back in self defense.

I wander how this compares percentage wise to the number of armed robbery, homicides, etc. (Violent crimes).

According to that article CCW permit holder are safer than the Police.
When the Texas and Florida data is combined it shows that CCW permit holders are convicted of felonies and misdemeanors at a rate of 2.4 per 100,000. While among police the rate is 16.5 per 100,000 officers.
Florida and Texas was used because they have the highest CCW permit holders in the USA
