So I placed my add in the newspaper and......
« on: May 10, 2013, 01:07:18 PM »
was told it would be in next day.
I checked it online the next day and the ad was not in. No biggie I figured maybe not online but in he regular paper.
Next day I checked online, no ad. I bought a newspaper and checked but saw no ad so I emailed the girl to let her know the ad was not showing.
She replied saying the ad is in the paper. I bought a paper again yesterday still no ad.
Also yeterday I get a postcard from First state firearms training congratulating me for applying for ccw.
Should I not worry about it?
I am a bit confused but how does First state know that I am applying unless it is in the paper somewhere????

It must have been in the paper.  First state mails post cards to everyone that runs an ad

It only runs one day.  Within about 7 days you will receive a copy from the Urnial.
The copy is a part of what you will be filing.

Keep a copy of EVERYTHING you file for YOUR records.
Your photos, I'd write your name on the back with a felt tipped pen.

The CCDW ads are not posted online, AFAIK. YMMV. ONVIA&H.

Did the paper give or mail you the affidavit?  That's the proof that you need.
Very few guns are actually "illegal guns."  A gun misappropriated by a criminal is no more of an "illegal gun" than a stolen car is an "illegal car."

Someone asked me yesterday how long the class is good for. I figured someone here would know. I am thinking a year, but not sure.

You can take or schedule the class within 90 after approval.  Fingerprints within 45 days prior to submitting application.  See http://courts.delaware.gov/forms/download.aspx?ID=33278

I didn't see anything limiting the course before filing, only after giving you 90 days. By rights you could take the course today and in 5 years from now do your newspaper ad, fingerprints, refs and application and it should be accepted. Not sure why one would wait but theoretically it should still be accepted.
