I just filed for my CCDW yesterday. The lady said it takes 3 to 4 months is that really true?

Possibly. I believe the time might depend on what part of the state you live in. I think Sussex County processes faster than upstate.

Ducati,
Welcome. It took me 17 weeks both times I submitted. You may go a bit faster as you beat the January mass renewals.
Good luck!

I'm in Wilmington also and it took me 7 months and a few phone calls "just to follow up". Good luck!

Thanks, any idea of how long I should wait till I call to check the status?

I submitted mine about a month before you did (Nov 7).  At that time, I was told that I was "lucky to get in before the renewal rush", and was quoted a time of 9-12 weeks.  I really don't have any intention of calling to check the status of my application until the tail end of those 12 weeks (if I don't have it yet...let us pray....)....As Im sure that place is a madhouse in the month of Jan, and Im not looking to take someone's time away from doing what they gotta do.

I called once a month to informed without being pushy. The lady, Dale, was always very nice and professional. About 3 weeks before I received the permit, she said that it was "in the pile to be laminated". I let that go 2 more weeks and called back offering to pick it up and laminate it myself since I work in a school. She said that wouldn't be necessary, and then I had it a few days later. Fingers crossed for you!
