Title: Need Recommendation for Course
Post by: 21fred on April 11, 2013, 12:37:24 AM
I was just notified that I am conditionally approved pending proof that I've completed the course...

Please give me your recommendation and experiences on course venues...

I've got to complete the course and submit proof within 30 days...

Thanks!

I would recommend www.firststatefirearmstraining.com it's a one day course cost is $150 dollars.  You can't beat it for the price, very informative as well.  Good luck!

Ditto on First Stat Firearms   They are good instructors and they will work with you as well at the range if you need some help. They worked with a young lady in my class who was having difficulty.  Can't say enough.  Leave range get breakfast, they buy, and on to class

THe wife and I both took our class with first state and Dave did great. Even got to see the kitty cats during lunch ( I think the cat wanted a bite of my sandwhich)

Omega firearms is another good one also taught by a really nice guy bob

Welcome 21Fred!

I don't have any first hand experience with Dave, but have heard nothing but great things about him. For that price, it's unheard of!!

Let us know who you choose and what your experience is please!

Thanks for all of your recommendations!

I ended up going to Trin Tac for various reasons...  It was a little more costly than first state but I was able to get a seat in the class last weekend that was filled up (due to a cancellation).  I had 30 days to show proof of class and did not want to  push it in case there  was some  delay..

I thought the class was very informative and the instructors did a great job...

One full day of Class on Saturday, then about 2 hours of shooting on Sunday....

I liked  the people a lot and plan on attending the advanced class in the fall..

Feel free to  ask any questions (about the class / experience) and I'll try to answer.

Thanks!

I think most of us here are familiar with Carl Pace.  Glad you got things wrapped up, had a good experience and were able to be accommodated quickly.  I took my class from Carl as well.  Nice guy.

Now it's the hurry up and wait. :)
