An Iver Johnson breaktop, with the owl’s head grips.  It “attempts” to shoot .32’s – but not very successfully.  Even when I pilfered it from my dad as a teenager, it was about 90 years old.  With a trigger pull that may be around twenty pounds, an inherently inaccurate round, and the timing being way off – it was more of a danger to me than anyone on the other end.  My first “real” piece was an S&W Model 65, in .357.  I still have both of them.

Very few guns are actually "illegal guns."  A gun misappropriated by a criminal is no more of an "illegal gun" than a stolen car is an "illegal car."

Corbon, Iver Johnson breaktop interesting little revolver, You had or still have two real nice S&W revolvers both I would love to have for my collection.

You must have seen the post before my edit.  Starting out shooting .308s and 12 gauges, and then moving almost immediately into .357s and .44s – sort of jades a person.  After that, everything seems like a cap gun.  Two exceptions to that would be my KelTec P3AT stoked with CorBon, and my Model 60 stoked with +P+.  Those little things are really bad.  Little tiny grips and lots of power (at least for the little tiny grips) makes for a painful combination.

I don't know why but Kel Tecs have never really been a gun that I have any desire to shoot even though they do make nice pistols. Although I'm kinda surprised that a 380 would be that hard to shoot even in +P+. I guess it could be.

The KelTec is difficult because it is tiny.  So, you are literally “trying” to hold onto it.  It has a bizarrely long trigger pull, and a somewhat narrow trigger.  You are also trying to avoid “Walther bite” on the top.  Meanwhile, the weapon itself has no weight to it – so all of the energy is transferred directly to your hand.  As mine was one of the “problem” guns, I had to keep taking it to the range and firing a hundred or more rounds at a time through it.  It was literally load-the-magazine, empty-the-magazine, load-the-magazine, empty-the-magazine -- over and over.  I didn’t even care where it hit – as long as it went bang.

I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone for a plinker.  And for self-defense, its best application is when the baddie is close enough to punch, but you don’t feel like scrapin’ up your knuckles.

I think my thing with the Keltec is its size, I'm not a big fan of small guns, I had a 38 spc snub nose revolver and hated it, I played hell trying to shoot it and the trigger guard would pinch my hand.

My first was a Ruger P97 in .45 ACP. I liked it, but I like my 10mm Glocks better.
