I carry the 26 in a supertuck- I love them both! The 26 has a 10 round mag, and I carry another from my 19 which holds 15. I would highly recommend both the gun and the holster to anyone. There is something to be said for a pocket gun in summer though. I have a pair of shorts that has a really deep pocket that hides the 26 amazingly well- all others print too much. My 911 BDU's hide it in the pocket well too. The supertuck with untucked shirt seems undetectable to me. Good luck Ex USCG and thanks for your service! That $399 deal is a great price! You deserve it. Pete D.---

Thanks Pete.  I enjoyed every minute of my service time with the USCG.  There is a lot of satisfaction and pride that comes from such an odd and often unappreciated job. The stories don't always end the way you want them to, so you just have to appreciate the job and the good days you do have.  I wouldn't trade the time I spent in for anything.  Making it even better was the fact that I was lucky enough to work with and be trained by some of the best small arms instructors in the business.  Had it not been for them, I probably wouldn't enjoy shooting as much as I do.

Just got my ex-Coastie wife a G26 Gen 4. First Glock, very impressed! Plan to put rounds through it tomorrow.

Either one will be good.  Wife uses G26 and I use G27.

What's the deal with all these foriegn made guns? You know when things get bad the parts will be almost non existant. I have looked at , and test fired several different kinds. I bought American. My Ruger 9mm was Gun of The Year twice in regular and compact styles. My pistol was made right here in Prescott Arizona. I am a Proud American. I try to buy American, and hope you will too. In this world, we can only count on US.

I would buy American if the value, price/quality, makes it worth to buy American. I won't buy a gun (or car for that matter) just because it is American. Things have gone bad these past years and IMO it has been good to American products - they are realizing they need to offer better quality at more competitive prices - see Ford for example.

I agree. Why enable the U.S. manufacturers to put out a lesser product at a higher price? The only way to ensure we will stay on top here at home is to drive them to offer a competetively priced product and one of quality. The labor Unions and government regulation are what is killing U.S. manufacturers. I refuse to reward them for this! THAT would be un-American!

Sorry, you guys need to do some research. Sturm-Ruger is"Anti-Union and pro "Right to Work".

"Union members will need to think twice the next time they purchase a firearm."

"Sturm-Ruger & Co. has come out in support of Right-to-Work legislation in New Hampshire according to a Business and Industry Association press release"

This was just last year.

I was more addressing the "I am a Proud American. I try to buy American, and hope you will too. In this world, we can only count on US" comment. I can only agree with that philosophy to an extent. Most folks I talk to carry this philosophy into all purchases and many times to their own detriment.

Equal appeal to me and equal price I will buy American solely because it's American. Although I will not settle for a lesser product to support a company that will not put out a product to appeal to my wants and/or my wallet. The America I'm from doesn't want to be first choice out of guilt. We want to have the very best product in quality and value and in more cases than not I think we do as far as firearms go. In other industries that is sadly not the case.

I have owned Ruger's all my life. I have several. I own Colt's, Kimber's, USFA, S&W, Marlin, Winchester and Remington's as well. If Sig or Glock come out with a product that I "gott'a have" and for whatever reason it's more appealing to me than the American made products in that category I'm surely going to buy what I want with my hard earned money. I buy my share of American made firearms but variety truly is the spice of life.

Glock and Sig both make their guns in the US. Glock in GA and Sig in MA.

And Berretta has a plant in Accokeek, MD but I didn't figure this would matter any more to him than Honda having 4 US plants and Toyota having 6.

Ya know what? The mood on this thread needs a boost. How about some gun porn?

I think the Glock feels right at home!

I would go with a G26. I had an XD sub compact in 40 cal. and got rid of it. It is a little heavier than the G27 and the recoil on it was significant. I prefer the 9mm in a sub compact.

Have a G30 gen 3 and a G23 gen 4. I actually like the way the g30 shoots and feels better. Have the 30 in a supertuck. Almost forget it is even there it is so comfortable, unless I try to wear it with the pants that have "shrunk up" while hanging in the closet. :)

.... pants that have "shrunk up" while hanging in the closet. :)

Hate it when that happens....  ;-)
