Bullet proof chair
« on: October 18, 2013, 12:43:29 AM »
On Wednesday I was at the Baltimore convention center attending the NeoconEast furniture show. One of the manufacturers was selling this bullet proof chair. Look closely and you can see the front panel and then the back panel with a neck hole at the top. The rep said that you could hide behind the chair or remove the panels and slip it over your head and use it as a bullet proof vest. It has Kevlar panels and covered with foam to make it comfortable as a chair cushion.

It is rated to stop a .357 mag round.

I suggested that it should have a holster under the seat so a person could defend themselves and not just hide and hope.

They are being sold to government offices and are available to the public. It is for real, not a prop.

Of course being in Maryland I could only carry my knife.

Sure.  It's only a sport when the chair can't shoot back right?
