I did a trigger job on my OLD(1950) Colt Commander. New springs, new hammer, polished everything. I got it down from 7 /34# to 4 1/2#, much better. Too light and it becomes a liability. Now if I could get my Browning HiPower down below 8, without removing the magazine safety, I would be happy...........except for some others. Brownell's says they have a spring kit that will get my Colt .38 Bodyguard down to 9#, but it is now at 9#. Hammerless model, and Colt says it can't improve on that.
I went shooting with an NCC cop(neighbor) last week. He brought his AR15 and let me shoot it. First time with a "modern" rifle, VERY nice, and accurate, almost no recoil. He shot my .45 and was consistently high about 1-2". When I shoot I am consistently low about the same. He is trained to shoot for speed, I am an old paper hole puncher. He says he never looks at the rear sight, doesn't have time. Find the front sight and blast away, or just point/shoot. I will have to try that.
