Lancaster Court House to stop issuing PA Ccw for Delaware residents .

I got my PA Ccw today. The woman behind the counter told me as of March 28th, they will no longer issue PA Ccw 's to Delaware residents. Where is the next closed county that issues?

I hope this does not mean that PA is going to stop issuing non resident permits

Delaware County issues but you have to make two trips to Media.

Closest same day would be Berks (Reading)

THE LANCASTER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE WILL NO LONGER ISSUE NON-RESIDENT PA CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMITS.

Found this information on PA NR issuing counties. Lancaster County hasn't been changed to "NO" yet but will be. It seems to be a County perogative as to whether they issue or not. Looks to me that someone of higher authority than the sheriff has mad a policy change.

My question is, who is that somebody and why.

Does pa have Reciprocity with any other state we can get a non resident permit with?  I guess our other hope is the national reciprocity going into effect....... I remain skeptical about that one though even passing.

I would also like to know about the status of renewals. This is not good news and I have been going there since 1997 and had no problems or complaints.

If PA won't renew, NH requires 3 references and $100. Does anyone hold an NH non-res?

I was issued a permit from Berks county and I recently called and asked about being able to renew. They told me they still offer out of state licenses, as long as I still have a CCW from my state.

This was a month or so ago so something may have changed recently.

I looked on the website and the application still says they issue to non residents who have a license for possession of a firearm. I'll call them again on Monday.

No renewals there. The woman told me that I'll have to find somewhere else to renew, in 5 years.

A couple of years ago, didn't Lancaster county stop issuing for awhile, then resume? I could be mistaken (wouldn't be the first time). Although I go to Delaware county (I am up there a lot because of family, so the two trips is insignificant to me), I hope Lancaster county resumes issuing soon after they stop. Okay....rambling...

They did stop issuing same day because they were backed up. Did not stop issuing and I think it was for everyone not just out of state.

Very disappointing in the sheriff up there.  Mark Reese had a nice letter laminated on the counter saying how pro gun he is. Also was really nice to Mrs "Clarence" and said how glad he was to see so many women getting licenses.

Wonder why he turned.  

Did he not take an oath to defend this:

PENNSYLVANIA: "The right of the citizens to bear arms in defence of themselves and the State shall not be questioned." Pa. Const. art. I, S 21

First state firearms posted on FB and said it sounds like they may reverse this but he doesn't know when.  So hopefully this is temporary.
