1911 4 inch

(1/1)

Spartacus:
I want a 1911 in the 4 inch barrel (I think its called commander sized) I don't want to spend a fortune though buying one.

Anyone got any idea's for me of what to get? Does anyone own one looking to trade/sell?

Schmenge:
You're correct, the 4 inch is the Combat Commander. I have one in 9mm (pretty rare I'm told) that I bought from George Benson about 20+ years ago. I wouldn't part with. I've found the balance because of the shorter length is better but there is more recoil. Since it's shorter you can probably get back on target quicker though. I've never fired a .45 Commander but I imagine it's a handful. If you can find one, I highly recommend it. My only issue with the gun was the sights. Too small, no contrast. I sent mine to Trijicon and I really like the sights now.

Hank:
Hi guy's.
I have a couple Combat Comander pistols " So Called by Colt and others, Generally they are 4.4" BRL.s My colt Is In 38 Super In all blued steel, and I also have a pretty new, 2009 Dan Wesson Bob tail 1911 In 10mm with the 4.4 " BRL. In S.S. with night sights that came In just about $1100.00 They are not for sale. They have gone up I hear. Right now I carry a 3" 1911 in 45ACP. Kimber Stanless Ultra Carry. I don't want them shooting back at me If I can help It.
Semper Fi all. Hank.

In God we trust, all others pay cash.

Gorski:
The commander is a 4.25" barrel, I have the combat commander and it shoots like a dream, dead on and easy to control, carrys real nice.

fredsfirearmservice.com had a nice light weight commander about a month ago.  I have seen the gun and it has been shot very little and is in great shape.
