The wait was not as long as I expected. She got approved today and now I need to get serious about getting the class set up. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Wow, not a bad wait at all.  I hope I get so lucky.

Went to the range with my wife last Saturday.  It was the first time she has ever fired a gun of any type. Borrowed a friends Rossi .38 snubbie and used Winchester 130 grain FMJ's, the kind you find at Wal-Mart.  This was the first time I have fired a 2 inch barrel so I was not sure what to expect.  I was surprised at the recoil and it was a bit rough on her.  She wants to give it another try though.  The next time I am going with a 4" .38 and get some low recoil wadcutters to make it easier on her.

A 38 spc snub is the worst pistol for a beginner due to the recoil. A 4" barrel will be more forgiving for her to learn with. Another option is a full size or midsize 9mm.
