Hello all, new guy here from Kent Co...been lurking for a few months (great info, gents, and much appreciated) and since I know the burning question in the minds of all new guys/lurkers is "How long is the wait?!", I thought I'd do the neighborly thing and share my experience. Just picked up my license from the mailbox on Saturday, Aug 15. Hadn't checked the mail all week, so it could have arrived Monday for all I know. I was at that stage where I figured I'd just have to forget about it and let it arrive when it arrived. I turned in my application in person on Jun 4, so right around a 10 week turnaround, give or take.

Welcome

Good to have you on the team.

Glad to hear you received it so fast, the wait in Sussex appears to be much longer right now. Approaching 4 months.

Could it be that permit applications are just sidetracked this time of year. Maybe at the request of the Liberal Democrat Attorney Generals Office?

Good news and congrats. Good to have you on board and all the best to you.

Many thanks to all for the warm welcome. Can't tell you how pleased I am, but I guess most of you have been there. In response to an earlier post, I really was concerned about the timing of my application and how close it was to renewal time, but if that held me up at all, it was certainly tolerable compared to the horror stories I've read about New Castle. Between renewal and the new style cards, I had no idea what kind of wait I might be in for. I personally think every state ought to be constitutional carry, but we have it better than some. To think that when I moved here from New Mexico, I initially wanted to live in Maryland...

Welcome to the Delaware CCDW club.

Good choice in Delaware over Maryland. I made the jump over here from Maryland 6 months ago. Much happier.

I was born and raised in MD. Lived here in DE. for about 50 years. Seldom go back, because they are liberal progressive anti-gun people.
