Sorry, you guys need to do some research. Sturm-Ruger is"Anti-Union and pro "Right to Work".
"Union members will need to think twice the next time they purchase a firearm."
"Sturm-Ruger & Co. has come out in support of Right-to-Work legislation in New Hampshire according to a Business and Industry Association press release"
This was just last year.
I was more addressing the "I am a Proud American. I try to buy American, and hope you will too. In this world, we can only count on US" comment. I can only agree with that philosophy to an extent. Most folks I talk to carry this philosophy into all purchases and many times to their own detriment.
Equal appeal to me and equal price I will buy American solely because it's American. Although I will not settle for a lesser product to support a company that will not put out a product to appeal to my wants and/or my wallet. The America I'm from doesn't want to be first choice out of guilt. We want to have the very best product in quality and value and in more cases than not I think we do as far as firearms go. In other industries that is sadly not the case.
I have owned Ruger's all my life. I have several. I own Colt's, Kimber's, USFA, S&W, Marlin, Winchester and Remington's as well. If Sig or Glock come out with a product that I "gott'a have" and for whatever reason it's more appealing to me than the American made products in that category I'm surely going to buy what I want with my hard earned money. I buy my share of American made firearms but variety truly is the spice of life.
