I normally carry in a fanny pack, which is pretty obvious to those in the know, or in a pocket. The problem is that I always tuck my shirts in. Always. Will an IWB holster work with tucked-in shirts?
-
I can get away with this with my Crossbreed Supertuck but I prefer not to. For most people to make a tuckable IWB (not all IWB are tuckable) work you would get pants a size larger and make sure the shirt is loose enough around the waist so that you do not print. Rather then try to make the firearm fit how I dress, I have adjusted my wardrobe to dress around the gun.

I LOVE my Supertuck for this reason!!

Check the availability and prices on these holsters made in St. Cloud Fl. www.theholsterstore.com
I'm ordering a Pro-Carry Deep Comfort IWB after a mountain of research.

Ordered my Pro-Carry Deep Comfort IWB holster from The Holster Store in St. Cloud FLorida on the afternoonn of Thursday the 26th of Jan. and received it today(Monday) in the USPS mail. That's only 4 days including thru the weekend. I ordered the brown color(also avail. in black) and it's a little darker that the picture, but not complaining, as it is concealed IWB. The instructions that came with it said to break it in (new and stiff leather) by wrapping wax paper around your unloaded gun and put it in the holster and remove several times. Then leave it in the holster over nigth. Must keep the wax side of the paper out so it rubs into the holster leather. I've been trying it today and it seems to be working nicely. It is pretty comfortable and lays close to my strong side which is what I was looking for. It can also be used as cross-draw holster, and is tuckable.

I've been wearing my IWB holster everyday for over a month. Totally satisfied. I bought some white tank tee shirts for the summer so I can wear them tucked in and wear a loose fitting shirt with shorts or trousers. Wearing the tank tees are to keep the holster and gun handle off your skin in warm weather. I'm told it works great.

I have tried a couple of IWB holsters. Problem is, I have no butt and nothing to hold up my pants but a TIGHT belt. That makes an IWB very uncomfy. I suppose i could go to suspenders, but with a gun, that drags one side down..........I know, carry two guns!!!

Same problem as you Bill. It's the only reason I carry in a pocket holster.

what kind of belt do you use?
I have a 5.11 belt that makes a world of difference than a regular belt. I'm going to be ordering from the beltman, www.thebeltman.net (http://www.thebeltman.net), to replace the 5.11 belt. It has not held up very well appearance wise. It has a permastiff insert and the leather has worn off it rather easliy. Not what I have come to expect from 5.11 products.

I wore out two 5.11 belts -- not impressed -- and then I bought an extremely thick belt at the New Castle Farmers Market that is holding up very well so far.

old gray....what store at the ncfm did you find your belt?

I forget the name, but it's the big leather place that sits on both sides of the aisle. Can't miss it.

What were they charging? Might have to run over there and check them out.

Thanks oldgray... Been in the market for a better belt.... No luck short of paying $70-80 and wait a month or 2 to get... ::) +1 on curious on the price as well

I bought a belt a few years ago at Walmart. It is 1 1/2" wide and has a double row of holes in it (As depicted below) and is not only great for holding either a IWB or OSWB holster, but great for hooking other utility things onto the belt through the perpunched holes. This belt is pretty heavy and was fairly inexpensive (cowhide). It was available in Black and Brown.

It was about $50. Well worth it.

Thanks for the lead on the belt oldgray ! Stopped on my way home today and picked one up...would definitely recommend that shop as well!
For those in the market they have the extra thick gun type belts on the rack with a couple style buckles in a couple styles/widths...1.5" & 2" for sure may have been others but I was looking for 1.5 so I didn't pay attention to additional racks...and they cut to length and locate/punch holes as desired... I was cc'ing at the time and when she was ready to "size the belt"...on me.... I informed her I was and she acted completely comfortable and said her son also does and she's very pro carry ...very nice woman and great belt the one I got was only $39... The best part is I walked out with it didn't have to order and wait a month for double the price lol
