Title: Received my permit in the mail, New Castle county, 46 days!
Post by: 8thFA on February 16, 2016, 11:41:29 PM
Fellow patriots, I am now packing baby!  Fast turn around, be encouraged those who are still waiting.

Mailed the application on December 28th, 2015
Check cleared December 31st, 2015
Mailed to me on the 10th of February 2016

Just a FYI for everyone filing, even though I explained to all my references why I was applying (protection of myself and my family), one still checked no, that I hadn't told him why I was applying, and another said my reason was "peace of mind".  I submitted them as is, wasn't too worried about it.  So take that for what it's worth, it certainly didn't hold up anything for me.

I figured with the New Year holiday in there and the renewal apps flowing in that it would be March at the earliest, so this was a pleasant surprise, but it did fall into the 7 week time frame a local gun shop owner said that he had been seeing in NCC over the last few months. He encouraged me to apply back in December because the turnaround times have been much faster than they had been.

Time to put my springfield XDM 3.8 compact into my Stealthgear Onyx IWB holster and begin carrying.

Congrats from a fellow NCC CCW holder. I carry a Glock 19 Gen 4 in my StealthGear holster. Love the Onyx.

Congrats, @8thFA.  Wondering if faster turnarounds occur for applicants who have been through a clearance process before.

I thought the same thing.  I just went through another clearance process a year ago for work.  That one took 3 to 4 months, so who knows.

I turned in my renewal in person to the NCC Prothonotary on January 4, checked cleared almost immediately and I received the card today. The cover letter is dated Feb. 12. Much faster than I anticipated and the replacement license is much better than the older one.

Congratulations, I thought I did good, had mine in 51 days, didn't look to see when it was dated, didn't care. ;D, still waiting on Florida.

This is so important to me as I'm sure it is to all of you. It would be nice to hear from all the insured members. Thanks Joet, I've been reading that link since you posted. I have been to USCCA and CCW Safe. It's tough to figure out the fine print. I don't need the fluff magazines and free stuff.

Have not used them, yet.

Who ever you go with MAKE SURE they pay up front.  So pay AFTER
you've been cleared.

"Some pay AFTER you've been cleared"

agreed very important because one cannot predict their disposition, no matter your innocence.

PPS, how about starting a new thread on this subject in a General Forum as to not hijack this thread, seems to be quite a few out there to chose from. Like to hear from others, pros and cons before I chose. Glad you bought this up, maybe we can all learn something on this ??? with more airplay.
