New Member. Minutes Old!
« on: December 08, 2015, 01:21:23 AM »
Hey everybody. Found this site about an hour ago and have been reading. Signed up minutes ago!

I am about to start the CCW process and have lots of questions.

Should I take my class BEFORE I apply? Some of the information on the official Delaware site say to wait till you are approved first.

I am in Sussex county. Is the wait time here shorter or longer then Kent or New Castle?

Is there any "rookie mistakes" I need to look out for in this process? I'm looking forward to hear what you grizzly veteran CCW'ers have to say!
I never worry about action, but only inaction.

Sussex co. is pretty fast.
If you have a clean record, ( ie. no record) then I would go ahead and take the course before you send off your packet.
Dont over explain your reason for applying for a permit. "Protection of self, family and others" is plenty reason enough.

Lynch is correct. Take the course and do all the other requirements.

Welcome aboard !
I agree to take the course and get it out of the way.
You may end up waiting longer if you wait to take it.

Take note of when and how you post the newspaper announcement.  Timing is important.  Most newspapers have templates ready to go.  And don't be surprised if the posting costs $30 or $40.

Welcome to the group!!  I was able to use the new castle weekly it was only 25 bucks for the ad in the paper.  Feel sorry for those that have to use the news journal its like 75 bucks for an ad not much bigger than a quarter
