New Jersey range trip goes bad....very bad
« on: February 11, 2016, 10:32:20 PM »
Don't know if this is the full story but sounds scary:

If You're Going To A Range In.....New Jersey.
This was just posted on Facebook by Alexander Roubian who is the President of NJ2AS: NJ 2nd Amendment Society.

"I just got a call from a person who went to the range with his uncle, dropped him off at home, got pulled over while going home, cop asked where he was coming from, he was honest and told the police officer that he went to the range with his uncle and just dropped him off. He was immediately arrested and now facing 7-10 years in prison for dropping his uncle off instead of going directly to and from the range. This is NJ gun laws at work!"......A. Roubian.

IMO........this is Terrifying.

****update****** This may be BS.

New Jersey sucks. Never met anyone from NJ that I liked.

I don't know if this is really the way it went down, but if it did, I'm sure the cop is really proud of himself.  Yup, made himself a collar of a violent felon.  Probably went home and bragged to his wife.

Again, if true, the problem for this poor sap is tha Christie has pulled out of the race.  Now he's got about as much chance of getting a pardon as if Christie would turn down a box of cream filled donuts.

Also just shows the stupidity of being "honest" with New Jersey cops. Where you are going or coming from is none of their business.

Gee I guess Sturm does not like me. I was born and spent the first 52yrs of my life in that cesspool. I retired Mar.1994 and moved to DE June.1994. I just could not wait to get out of the Peoples Republik of NJ. I hate to say this but DE is headed in the same direction as the PRNJ. It is just a matter of time unless the voters in DE wise up. This story just does not seem right to me and because of my background I must question it. Could this be another internet legend?

Captain,  I hope it is not true. I also hold out then possibility that there might be more to it. I'm quite sure most policemen would not act this way.  I think it is worthy of research.

After taking time and really thinking about this I still have my doubts. I have been retired a long time but still have some connections and contacts in the PRNJ. I do not do Facebook or Twitter but I need some additional info. I need the Police Dept.,date of arrest and name of the defendant. I am convinced that there is more to this story. I am sure everyone understands how things on the net just go crazy. I do not believe half of what I read on the net. People can post things and never have to ID themselves or prove what is posted. No need to go on because you all know what I am talking about. I am and always was a big 2nd Amend. guy and we know there are radicals in our ranks. Again give me more info on this and I will check it out.

IMHO, it is none of the Officers business where he was coming, or going to.  Assuming this question came up before mentioning any guns.  Even then I doubt it.  Why was he being stopped??  There has to be a valid reason, lights out, driving error, etc.
