I just got my permit about a month ago and I'm now starting to carry condition 1 (one in the chamber). I carry a glock 22 and was thinking if a situation came up would I have enough time to rack the slide to get a shot off. So I was wondering, what condition do you carry?

C1. Usually carry a Para LDA (light double action) double stack 14+1.
If the magazine ban passes, it will be a 1911 also in C1 with 2 spare mags.
So, I'll go from 15 rounds to 25.

I carry a shield or a ruger SR9c C1 and rely on the external safety for extra protection.
-
C1 with stricker action and C2 with hammer action.

I carry with a round chambered. If the gun has an external safety, I would use it. My Sig P232 and Springfield XDs rely on internal safeties and trigger/grip safeties. As a relative beginner in CCDW, it's fine to begin without one in the chamber if you are more comfortable. Either way, be sure you have a good holster that covers the trigger completely, and inspect it often. Plenty of stories out there of older leather holsters folding in front of the trigger, and drawstrings from windbreakers getting caught in triggerguards.
Cheers!

C1, I carry the SR9 17+1 round(Big brother of the SR9C) and it has an external safety. I check it often. Have never had a problem. I carry 24/7.

I have been carrying for a couple weeks now. I carry a Sig P938 with a round chambered and the safety on.

Condition Four: Chamber empty, no magazine, hammer down.
Condition Three: Chamber empty, full magazine in place, hammer down.
Condition Two: A round chambered, full magazine in place, hammer down.
Condition One: A round chambered, full magazine in place, hammer cocked, safety on.
Condition Zero: A round chambered, full magazine in place, hammer cocked, safety off.

Thanks different terminology was used, but I recall that from my ccdw class.
Seems like condition four is almost like not carrying at all

Glock 23 here. One in the chamber, 13 in the mag, 15 in a spare G22 mag that I carry as well. If SHTF, you are not going to have time to rack the slide.
