Carrying Concealed at Wells Fargo Center
« on: February 13, 2014, 07:18:04 PM »
Is it legal for me to carry inside the Wells Fargo Center in Phily?

I have a DE CCDW and PA LTCF.

Thanks!

Private businesses can post signs, but that has no backing in the law. It's up to you to abide or disregard the signs. I would carry UNLESS I know that they pat people down, or have metal detectors.

I was just up there for an AHL game.  They had wands in hand.  As I approached, they waved me on.
No clue what you may encounter.

May want to try asking as (SEARCH FIRST) pafoa.org

Yes it is legal.  I have never seen signs prohibiting, but I never looked for them either.  The security you run into will depend on the event you are attending.  Most family events have no searching/wanding/metal detectors at all.

I'll probably never go to the WFC, but I was curious about this.

http://forum.pafoa.org/concealed-open-carry-121/122796-carrying-wells-fargo-center.html has several folks saying that they have gone through the security wands and when they beep, simply tell security that you have a firearm to check in...  they escort you to the security office to lock your gun in a locker.  They give you a receipt and the key. After the game, go back, present your receipt and key...

There are also several people who state they either carried and were never wanded, or that they were wanded and it didn't beep.

I can't find anything at all in writing from the WFC stating it is or is not ok to carry there.

Hope this helps,

Moosie

Thank you for all of the replies.  The event that I was going to attend there was cancelled.

I'm guessing you were going to the circus as well?  We would have both found out the answer about carrying there than.  I HATE snow!!

Yes, the circus!  I don't like leaving anything locked in the car in that parking lot, especially a firearm, but didn't want to drive there unarmed.  And those protesters scare me.

I got a refund and bought tickets for their Baltimore show in March.  Now I will have to go unarmed.

I have been up in the suites of the Wells Fargo many times over the past few years and I have never been wanded or stopped.  Before anyone says "ooohhh the suites Mr. big bucks!?!"....   I drive limousine/bus part-time and sometimes my customers have an extra ticket to the event their are attending in the suites and I go up.

Security @ WFC = JOKE!

I know someone who went there.  They were wanding.
Gun IWB on right side, knife back right pocket, and keys
right front jacket pocket.

They stepped up. Was prepared to ask for an escort to the
security office.  Wander on his right side.  Wand front and back.
Just let in to enjoy the event.
