MERCER COUNTY, Pa. —

A Mercer County man said he shot an 18-year-old who was trying to break into his Sharon home on Thursday.

Pete Dellibovi said he was resting when he heard a loud noise come from his back door. Dellibovi said he began carrying a gun with him when his home was broken into last year.

Dellibovi said when he reached the back door the intruder was in his home and he shot him.

Police said 18-year-old Makees Hughes later showed up at Sharon Regional Hospital with a gunshot wound to his groin.

Hughes was charged with burglary and trespassing. No charges have been filed against the homeowner.

I just became a Life Member and started reading that section. Great stories that need to be told with more voice.
