Title: FOPA Improvement & Clarification Bill Introduced
Post by: groundgrid on January 27, 2015, 03:57:15 AM
H.R.131 - To amend chapter 44 of title 18, United States Code, to more comprehensively address the interstate transportation of firearms or ammunition.

https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/131

This bill clarifies that the interstate transportation of firearms is protected and specifies that incidental stops during travel cannot be construed as violating state law. This is in important issue for us considering our proximity to the oppressive states of NJ & MD.

Please call or write John Carney's office & politely remind him that his party is currently outnumbered and that support or sponsorship of this bill would go a long way in proving his willingness to work for ALL of the citizens of Delaware.

IMO, this bill is a prime candidate for a veto override. It doesn't affect "state's rights" but simply clarifies the intent of FOPA so that legal gun owners are not persecuted.

This is perfect to stop the Maryland Transportation Authority or whatever they're called to stop pulling over people for no real reason except that they have an out of state CCW permit...
