Heya guys,

My name is Pat, I'm 26 and I'm from Sussex county. Grew up in Maryland so I never realized you could own a handgun in this country lol. Been living in Sussex for over 2 years now going to Del Tech, Owens for nursing. Don't think I'm going back to MD after I graduate :)


I was over at Opencarry forums initially - they're a great group of guys over there but I felt like a ccwer in an opencarry forum lol.


Anyways, looking to apply for my DECCW permit after I graduate in a year, so hoping to make some friends on here who could vouch for me when the time comes ;)

Anyone else going to Owens at the moment? I'm brand new to firearms so anyone likes teaching newbies let me know! Only gun I own is a Glock 21, never been fired lol.

Just realized - unisex name...nursing school..."perky" typing style...I probably come off as a hot blonde girl lol. Sorry, I'm a guy :)

Welcome!  As I am sure others can tell you that have been carrying for longer than me, the longer you cary the more you resent states that are anti.  There's nothing like having to disarm as you travel through some states (south) or have to leave your sidearm at home (generally North)  It may become a key consideration of yours when you settle in your career somewhere.

Welcome, Pat.  Honorable profession that you are working towards.  @SteveMiller is correct on feelings towards anti-2A states.  Had to go unequipped into the PRMD yesterday and couldn't wait to get home. Glad to have escaped from that state some years back.  Cheering for the Federal National Reprocity bills.  Regarding your requests: some of the Slower Lower members will speak up shortly.

Hi Pat and Welcome.

You are definitely at the opposite end of the state but this is fortunately a small state ^.^ I am sure we could work something out in the future for a range trip.  I've been putting some thought into getting an NRA teaching cert in the not to distant future so some practice might not be a bad idea.


Also I agree with Cb and Steve, Other than it being such a small state I do resent that travel can be a bit obnoxious due to our neighbors.
