Dave Johnson First State Firearms Training... My wife and I went to Dave..very good instructor and very good class...$150.00 I think.

he has classes on Sat and Sun, and some on Wed too. And his class is good in Fl and AZ for their CCW'S. Hope this info helps, there are many

company's giving these classes, and they are all very good.

Sorry to rant here but.........

Why is it we have programs that give needles to drug addicts, first rate healthcare to those in jail, etc - but there is no program to financially assist those who wish to exercise their 2nd amendment rights ?  It is not a cheap thing to do in this state.  While it seems we are all fortunate to be able to afford it here - I have a major issue with the fact that it maybe cost prohibitive to some.

/end rant.

Same! Both my wife and I took his course. Lots of laughs and a ton of information. Good tips and exercises shared at the range as well. His course is 1 full day from 8:30am to about 4pm with a few breaks. They are also available to help you after the class via phone, email, etc. Get our recommendation.

Another vote for Mr. Johnson. He and his son do a first rate job with their course.

Course:   Depends on who you go with, Dave was $150
News paper: Try to go with a local paper and avoid the News Journal as they charge $75. My ad was $35 or so in my local paper.
Filing fee: $65
Finger prints: $69.

My total cost was around $319.00, which is about as cheap as I think you can go.

Kilroy08 is right on..just got done a few minutes ago making appointments and filling everything out. Here we're my prices:
Newark Post Ad-$42.00
Filing Fee-$65.00
Fingerprinting Fee-$69.00
And I'm figuring $150 for the class if I get approved, so $326 for everything

Eddie, if you are sure of a clean background, take the class and submit all of the paper work at one time, this will speed up an already slow process.

Eddie:  Figure in about 400 rounds of ammo.  Hope you're not shooting .45s

Dave's class didn't require 400 rounds when I took it years ago. He just wanted to see that you are proficient and safe with a firearm. I only shot one box of ammo. It was also zero degrees that day....

Thats correct.. Dave Johnson First State Firearms Training.. requires you to shoot the State Requirement of 100 rounds. Wife and I just did this 2 weeks ago.

Adrenolin: did you send your paper work off yet?

Not yet. Our newspaper posting didn't go in last week but was in yesterdays paper. Waiting on the letter from the newspaper now. Monday morning we'll head down to Dover for fingerprinting, likely get the newspaper letter and clipping that afternoon and take it up on Tuesday.

Dave Lawson’s class at Shooter’s Choice requires a prequalification shoot, a practice session and then a final qualification.  If you already have some marksmanship skills you may shoot 300 rounds.  If not, then 400 is more like it.

At least that’s the way it was when I took the class.

Hey guys,

This is my very first post, I'm about to the start the process of filing, finger printing, references, etc.
I live in the scary city of Wilmington (Proper 19802) and was wondering, can any of you recommend a different newspaper other then "The News Journal"?
They are an absolute rip off for this type of notice!

Thanks much for any suggestions you can provide.

I tracked all of the costs, training, ammo, range fee, application fee, photos, postage....ect. My Delaware CCW permit cost me $600, the Florida CCW permit was another $150.
