Excellent, there is still hope for us in Sussex county.
Still waiting, my wife and I both filed on 3/18.

Friend of mine just received his permit today after waiting 80 days from the time he filed.  Sussex County at that!

I'm on 11 weeks and counting.. A friend of mine that filed after me got his 3 weeks ago. So I called and what they told me is the doj in Wilmington only has 12 investigators, some if which are only part time so really it's the luck of the draw. She's waiting on mine along with 200 others :-(

Yes, they all go through Wilmington.

Also keep in mind that you're all pushed to the bottom of the pile so that renewals can be completed before they expire.  Frustrating, but worth the wait.

Thats what I was told!  I'll verify with my uncle when he gets back from vaca.  He's a balif in Sup Ct in Wilm.

The paperwork is turned into the Prothonotary's office for each county, but the AG's office in Wilmington handles the backgrounds for all three counties.  -- at least that is my understanding.  I will double check and report back.

Two weeks after I filed, I was called by the Attorney General's office and told all looked good and my paper work was being sent to Wilmington.

If all that is true why do the wait times differ so greatly between counties?

Not sure why there's a difference in processing times.  I know the investigators who are assigned to do background checks on us have other duties as well. I would think (while this sucks) that the other matters take priority?
