Empire state building shooting
« on: August 26, 2012, 11:48:13 PM »
It seems the people most in danger of getting shot in NYC, are those the police shoot by mistake! I was at Penn Station Friday getting a cab to go uptown, when the taxi driver asked me whether I had heard about the shooting. He seemed pretty scared since at that time all people knew was that there was a "mass shooting" at the Empire State Building and that many people were wounded or killed. My office kept calling me to make sure I was alright and mid town was snarled in traffic for a while, since they closed a few blocks. It seems a disgruntled employee shot his old boss and responding police officers killed the shooter but managed to wound 9 innocent bystanders. There were more than a dozen shots fired by the police as they pursued him down a crowded street, but the murderer did not get a shot off at the police.  it just seems to me that the police were shooting pretty wildly, and endangered a lot of people trying to get to the perp. Is this SOP in this kind of situation to shoot into crowds?

I think it goes against police protocol. And don't for get that as a CCDW holder, you are responsible for all bullets fire from your gun. If you fire at some one and hit an innocent, your in deep doo-doo.
I'D RATHER HAVE A GUN IN MY HANDS, THAN A COP ON THE PHONE!
