This is a challenge to the bizarre New York City law that forbids a handgun owner from leaving the city with their gun. Even to target shoot or travel to a second home unloaded and in a case.
I predict we will easily win this and it just might open the door for more.
My fear is that NYC will realize this and change the regulation to avoid a second amendment victory and make the case moot

In any case, it is good that SCOTUS has agreed to hear the case. That, alone, is a step forward.

Let's hope the SCOTUS doesn't let us down.

I concur with Clarence:
"My fear is that NYC will realize this and change the regulation to avoid a second amendment victory and make the case moot"
If this goes to SCOTUS and the city looses, it will have nationwide implications invalidating many of the ridiculous laws that have been enacted.
My bet is that the regulation is changed within the next 120 days and the case is withdrawn. I'm hoping that the city is hard headed enough to not take this route thus letting the court decide what level of scrutiny applies to the 2A.
In any case, if RBG is replaced by then, we will be in an even better position.

Remember that Washington DC decided not to appeal the circuit court decision that overturned the “proper reason” section of their concealed carry law. They were afraid that if they lost it would invalidate New York, Maryland, New Jersey, ad nauseum laws. They took one for the team.
In any case if this goes to the Supreme Court and we loose, we are toast. This should be a slam dunk

While this case, NYSRPA, could be foundational re. a 2nd A RBA, the knockout blow could be, if it is granted cert., the Rogers case:
