Does anyone know where I can get a gun re-blued?
-
What gun? If not a collectors item, which would loose value if reblued anyways, how about coating it?
-
Pauls gunshop ( in felton) can probably do it but im not sure if their still open. The gunsmiths are getting obsolete.

Check www.mrarms.com (http://www.mrarms.com) I had my Kimber refinished by them. I love the way it came out. They have a gun blue finish. My Kimber cost $165 to refinish.

As far as I knoe Paul's Gun Shop, on RT. 10 between Petersburg and Sandtown is still open, but on a limited schedule. Call 302-284-3772 for info.
Good Luck

I am thinking of going to The Gunstock Shop in Wilmington to re-blue my 11-87. I hear they do a good job.

Gun nut, I can tell you that I've known the owner of Gun Stock shop for a number of years and he does do a great job when it comes to refinishing. Mike has restocked and refinished high-end shotguns owned by high-end collectors/shooters, for quite a number of years. He did some work on a side (hardware store grade but in good shape) that I have, including lengthening of forcing cones to accommodate modern shell lengths and some other touch up work on the stock; a great job at a reasonable price.

I watched my brother blue an old .22 and it turned out pretty good. That was 40 something years ago. I've blued a few items and it’s as good as I've seen anywhere. A little practice, a little thinking and $3.99 can go a long way! You can accomplish a deep blue luster if you have the gumption! Even stainless can be dressed quite nicely. I don't have cheap eyes and you might want to check this out. I found that there are several smithy procedures that you can do nicely.

I was going by Paul's Gun Shop on RT.10 yesterday and haven't been by in a while, but I noticed the place was boarded up. Another one bites the dust?
