New CCW Permit Holders / Re: Late renewal
« Last post by Radnor on Today at 09:25:22 PM »
No*** and No.

*** I am ASSUMING (that BAD word) your Delaware CCDW will expire TOMORROW (5/31/2024).  I tell my students when renewing (or applying initially), make 2 (TWO) copies.  You must file  an original and a copy.  On the 2nd COPY, I ask them to TIME STAMP AND STAPLE THE RECEIPT to it.  This is why....

? 1442. Carrying a concealed deadly weapon; class G felony; class D felony.

A person is guilty of carrying a concealed deadly weapon when the person carries concealed a deadly weapon upon or about the person without a license to do so as provided by ? 1441 of this title.

Carrying a concealed deadly weapon is a class G felony, unless the deadly weapon is a firearm, in which case it is a class D felony.

It shall be a defense that the defendant has been issued an otherwise valid license to carry a concealed deadly weapon pursuant to terms of ? 1441 of this title, where:

(1) The license has expired,

(2) The person had applied for renewal of said license within the allotted time frame prior to expiration of the license, and

(3) The offense is alleged to have occurred while the application for renewal of said license was pending before the court.

New CCW Permit Holders / Late renewal

Hello Everyone,

Please excuse me for not knowing the answer to this question, I am still new to CCW and lacking in experience with renewals.  I just submitted my Delaware ccdw renewal application today.
Does that mean that I need to stop concealed carrying until I receive the new license?  Do I also need to inform the other states that I hold CCWs that my license has expired?

Thank you in advance I appreciate any input.

Got my RENEWAL on 4-24-2024, so it took almost 4 months.  I hope that is because of new applicants, especially in light of the illicit 'permit to purchase' racket by the Democrats of Delaware.  I wonder if 100% of them really approve of this?  I doubt it, and bet they just say "how high" when told to jump.  How can we expose the hypocrites?

Haven't read the BS law but would you be able to lend a handgun to someone looking to qual for purchasing? Or maybe stay at the range with the person during their 100 round live fire?

I check the print version al the New Urinal for CCW postings.  They are really getting up there, many per week.  Smart people.  But our comrades in the legislature will ban that next year???

Anyone I train will receive 2 certificates....  1 P2P, 1 CCDW

As a side note related to the Permit to Purchase, the criteria for Permit to Purchase are identical to the criteria for a CCDW license in Delaware.  It really wouldn't make any sense to get the Permit to Purchase versus License to Carry Concealed.

As an OLD Delaware native, I learned long ago that Joe has no problems at all with spending OP money.  And never saw a tax increase he didn't support.  But as a contractor, heard he won't pay contractors with his own money.

Add to that the border situation, and the obvious alzheimer's setting in; don't see how anyone in their right mind can go to the polls and vote for this guy.  They may vote for free money, though, and that remains a problem.  But even then- taxpayers do NOT want to 'forgive' college debt.  That is ridiculous. And now I heard he wants to release more of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (again) to buy votes.
