Not that I endorse these badges in any way, but there is one benefit to them. If your gun is ever accidentally exposed, it could save you from having to explain yourself to police. From my experience, the general public views guns as evil and dangerous however; when accompanied by a badge of any kind, they are considered much less sinister. Most people will just automatically recognize the shape and color and assume its official, and not examine the badge close enough to realize that it just says Concealed Carry Specialist or CCDW holder, etc.
If someone insisted on carrying one of these badges, I would only wear it close to the gun, so if it is accidentally exposed, the badge is seen with the gun. It should go without saying, but pinned to the chest or hanging around the neck are not appropriate places to wear them.
