CCW permit card
« on: November 28, 2012, 09:41:07 PM »
Need some advice.  Delaware's CCW permit card is an odd size and does not fit into the standard credit card slot in wallets, etc.  How is everyone else carrying/protecting their cards?

The license is a bit oversized and quite low rent for sure.  But I carry a one-pocket wallet with my I.D. and a credit card and the CCDW card, which just fits.

I recall some were making color copies of the CCDW card (and don’t know about whether its legal).  That way you can size it slightly to fit any slot.  And maintain the original is a safe place.

my concern would be if this would be considered tampering with the card--doing all this cutting, sizing, etc., and thus invalidate the card????

I just keep mine in the billfold section of my wallet.

I trimmed mine as well. Don't think anyone would ever notice.

I trimmed mine as well, and put it into a folder that the NRA has for CCW/Iden cards.

I'm under the impression that you have to have the original on your person anytime you're carrying. A reproduced copy is not acceptable. I just stick mine in the same place as you would put cash in a wallet.

In DE, unless an action is listed as a criminal offense in the DE code, it is not illegal.  I have not found any indication or and code stating that it is illegal to reproduce a card or trim the card.

You can trim it down if need be.  They are very generic
