Go thru Centre County...but do it quick.  There is no telling when the state will make him update.

According to PA law all CCDW Permits must be done in person after May 1, 2011.

Most say yes....however one sheriff (don't remember who) stated that once you signature and pic are on file you could just opt to reuse them and renew thru the mail.

Right now, I don't think anybody is sure how renewals...after the first visit...will work.

I think the next permit, after the changeover, will need to be done in person. I don't know if current permit holders will need to go to the county where it was issued, ir if we'll be able to go to the nearest PA county.

Centre County is a bit of a haul from here...  :-\ I guess I'll find out in 2015.

Got my Pa.permit today 15 days since mailed. Lot better than the
13 weeks for De. Now to look up how to make it fit. Think I read to go to Staples and to get it reduce 40%
and maybe laminate it.

This may be a dumb question but I just don't know?? ???  If I have DE and FL what would I gain with a PA?  Does PA recognize FL or DE?

John, it don't look like you will gain anything. Fl has more states and all off PA's. I ot the Pa. permit because it was the easyist, I think. Thinking about FL. now. Will have to find out if my gun course from J.D.Defence will do for the course req.

Look into Arizona (http://www.azdps.gov/Services/Concealed_Weapons/Permits/Obtain/)...it's cheaper than FL, gives almost identical reciprocity (http://handgunlaw.us/states/arizona.pdf), and a copy of your DE permit will suffice for training.

I got the PA permit because I'm in PA every week. I would much rather hand a PA cop a PA permit.
I've only showed a permit to a police officer once, and it was on the PA turnpike last October while I was picking up my speeding ticket.  ;) I was @@@@ glad not to be a Delaware resident showing him a Florida (or Utah, or Arizona) permit, even if the end result might have been the same.

Old G. you make a good point.  When my DE permit shows up I'll probably run up and get the PA permit.  I travel PA quite a bit.

I got my PA permit because I know a Pa officer who told me his men aren't really up on reciprocity. It would be much better just to show them a PA permit. Who really is? Its hard to keep up with. I also have Utah and New Hampshire.

Got my PA permit in the mail today. Took about 2 weeks. They are big. Has anyone had it shrunk down and laminated? Is it legal?

If you look at an earler post on page one you'lll see I took mine to staples reduced 60% and laminated for $1.42 including tax, they even let me use their sissors to cut it out.I wonder also if it would be legal, but done it, also, no way can one carry that big permit around for 5 years and still be able to read it.  Maybe some one here has had some experince with Pa. law enforcement with the small permit.

If you get your permit in person, say at the media courthouse, you recieve a shrunken copy of what centre county gives except it has your pic and is laminated already. Chance are most police you would come across up there wont know that you did it yourself.
