I was wondering if it makes sense to take the conceal carry course required before applying for my CCW or wait till I hear back from the state then sign up. My wife and I want to get our CCW and we are just finished up getting all our affidavits together and the fingerprinting and we were sure if we should do the class first or not.

Do the class as it will save on wait time. That is unless you are not in a hurry, ;)
-
I see no reason to wait to take the training class unless you are not sure you will be approved to receive a permit because of a past arrest or treatment for mental illness.
-
Apply and take class while waiting.

Take the class and get 'er done. There is no down side to taking the training.

I took class first which helped me in the whole process. I applied for and received my FL permit before DE.

It's up to you. When I did it I submitted everything then took the class after approval. It WILL slow the process down a little
because everything will be there EXCEPT for the certificate of training. Then they will have to write you a letter and mail it.
If you submit everything in one package, you will skip the letter step and it's delay.
If you are interested in a class, we are having one on Sunday the 12th.

Thanks everyone for their opinions on this. I will probably go ahead and get myself and my wife signed up for a class soon so we can get that part out of the way before we file for our permits.
