Title: WW 1 1911 handgun
Post by: Cutter on June 26, 2017, 08:36:16 PM
Good afternoon, Is there someone out there that can do restoration on a WW 1 1911 .45 handgun. It's in fairly good shape but it needs an expert to bring it back to what it was.

Sometimes it's better to leave those things as they are. He might reconsider having anything done.

More often than not youre better of preserving it as is than doing any kind of refinishing or destroying the patina

I am an AGI certified 1911 gunsmith.  I can look at it, but as suggested above, you might better preserve its' value by doing nothing other that a good clean/lube.  E-mail me.  But do not try to upgrade or modernize it, but do preserve it, especially if it is in original condition.
