New application form (March 2015)
« on: April 14, 2015, 04:29:54 PM »
Just FYI: for anyone about to file or renew, the state revised the application form last month.  There's also a separate form for people applying under H.R. 218 / LEOSA.

The new forms, instructions, etc. can be found at:  http://courts.delaware.gov/superior/weapons.stm

I wonder how many applicants will glue the photos to the photo outline on the application forms.

Please file original and one (1) copy of all documents, together with the filing fee. Also attach two (2) current color passport-style photographs.

I had gone through the old form and added fillable fields, so I was able to type in my answers for our renewals. I guess I can delete that work now.

I'd be grateful if you did that with the new form and posted it on the forum.

The new form is already fillable: you can type in it.

I hope anyone who can get through our cumbersome process will have enough gray matter to use a paper clip

I took it a step further . . . I actually had the old form notarized and ready to go.  Then I found the new one.   >:(

As an aside, there seems to be something wrong with the form when I tried to type my replies.  It would not let me click "no" to both of the questions "do you hold a permit in another state" and "Have you ever been denied a permit."  Clicking one, unchecked the other.   So I just printed it and filled in the other box.  No big deal, but if anyone else is having the same problem, it's not your computer.

I applied back on March 4th.  The must have seen my handwriting and realized it was time for an upgrade to the form!   :D

I filed my application yesterday in New Castle County.  There was a sign behind the counter indicating that any applications on the old form "MUST be rejected."    So I guess the lesson there is use the new form.   ;)
