Any Advance Training in DE?
« on: July 18, 2011, 06:30:45 PM »
Hey guys,
I was wondering if there is anything in DE / PA that would do some type advance training like what Magpul Dynamics.

I'm interested in Handguns or carbine training.

For those not familiar with Magpul Dynamics here a link:

I have taken an advanced concealed carry class with DSF, very nice and definitely improved my skills. I have not found a Carbine class around here, actually TrinTac I believe offered once but it was more towards maintenance.,ll

Thanks!
If no other suggestion comes around, I might try DSF Advance CCDW

I just wanted to give an update.

I took the DSF class
http://delawareccdw.com/

It was really awesome, David is great instructor and I was allowed to do/practice a whole bunch of things that are strictly forbidden at any of the ranges close to my house. So the 2 hours drive was worth it.

I'm gonna have to get a membership to that club in the near future  ;)

Glenn (owner of SOC Training) is very good and offers advanced pistol, home defense, advanced ccdw, and several other courses. He has an excellent background and is all about reality training.

Their website is www.soc-training.com. It's a little out of date, but he's not that computer savvy and the guy that used to take care of it doesn't do it so much for him anymore I think.

Hope this helps. I have done all of my training through him and he's great!

No, I have not done IDPA yet. I have done a couple of USPSA which is fantastic - really helps in developing your skills and it is also fun.

A couple of different places - you can find a list of clubs close to you (http://www.uspsa.org/locate-uspsa-clubs.php)

You can also sign up to become a member, sometimes members have discount on shooting matches.

I am the match director for USPSA matches at my club in Sudlersville MD. For those folks looking to get invloved in competition to improve their handgun skills, we'd be glad to have you. Sudlersville is about 20 minutes south of Middletown. I've included the link to our club.

"... so my wife says, don't you have enough guns?" to which I reply, "My dear, there is no such thing as enough guns."
