Title: Belt Me
Post by: chriswalrath on June 12, 2012, 01:30:12 AM
OK.  Who is selling a good sturdy belt for those a little wide in girth?  A coworker suggested HD.com but nothing quite long enough (need 54").  I got a couple belts from casual male but they are bonded, not stitched or single layer and they began to seperate within 10 days of initially wearing them.  I plan on spending over $50 for a belt that will stand up.  Any suggestions?  I'm just not satisfied with anything I have found yet.

Try the leather store at the farmers market in New Castle.  A couple of us on here have them and they are quite nice and easy priced, $39.  They are very sturdy and custom fit.  I'm going to buy another one in brown soon.

I went here: http://www.hanksclothing.com/belts.html (http://www.hanksclothing.com/belts.html).
At the time they did not have the CCW belt, I went with the Amish one.
Love it.  It carries a 1911 loaded with 15 rds of .45 all day long (OWB).

Do you carry a 1911 with 15 rounds magazine? Why not carry with 8 and perhaps have the 15 rounds as a backup mag?

I cant imagine having the 15 rounds magazine sticking out of a 1911 carrying concealed.

Interesting, besides the reviews on budsgunshop I couldn't find anything on this gun. I would like to see how they managed to fit 14+1 rounds on a 1911 frame, I woudn't trust much though. I will stay with the original- single stack, single action.

I was in Tractor Supply near Dover the other day. They had some great looking wide , heavy duty belts in there, and in some pretty long sixes for you "huskie" guys. I'm sure all Tractor Supply stores carry them and they are available on-line on their site.

I looked at the belts at the NC farmers market and they not even close to the quality of the Amish belts from Hanks. The farmers market belts are $38, the Amish belts are $32 including shipping( delivery 5 days or less). They have extended sizes above 50 for $5($37) more. I bought the the embossed ones at that these prices and couldn't be more pleased, check them out................

Dont know if you ordered from Hanks before this thread or not.  Glad it worked out.  I have one and love it too.  If I ever need another, you know where I'm going.

Check out www.wildbillsconcealment.com belts are pricey.  However, the belts are well worth the price.  I have a belt that is 10 years old and I still use it every day.

I saw 1 3/4" wide heavey cowhide belts in Walmart, in Black, Brown and Dark Brown. The price was $12.00.  I have one like it I bought almost 10 years ago and it still works fine.
They had sizes up to 45-48 inch.
